LaTrell Bumphus
How much of an impact LaTrell Bumphus will have as a true freshman will remain to be seen, but the future is extremely bright for this former defensive end.
Bumphus was listed as a defensive end/athlete coming out of high school, but he played both defense and offense for Hardin County High School in Savannah, TN. Ever since he’s joined the Vols, players and coaches alike have praised him for his practice habits and the talent he’s flashed so far.
Unfortunately for Bumphus, several more experienced players are ahead of him on the tight end depth chart. Seniors Ethan Wolf and Jakob Johnson, redshirt sophomore Eli Wolf, and redshirt freshman Austin Pope are all more experienced than Bumphus. But the true freshman has the talent and upside to possibly leapfrog several of the older players and get on the field this year. Even if he doesn’t, he will contribute for the Vols in the very near future.

Shamburger will be the biggest gem & he’ll outplay many that were rated a lot higher than him over the next 3 to 5 years.
