Improved 2009 Black Jerseys
If you remember back in 2009 under Lane Kiffin, the Vols debuted one of the most controversial and still most talked about jerseys to this day: the Halloween black jerseys. Fans still talk about the night Tennessee came out in the black tops and orange pants and beat down South Carolina.
So why not update one of the most talked about alternate jerseys in Tennessee history?
The first picture up top adds an orange shoulder to the jersey, while the second design below adds a little checkerboard pattern to the shoulder and stripe down the pants. The third mock-up adds a black stripe down the side of the pants, something Tennessee has never had on a uniform.
The next two feature an orange helmet, something Tennessee has never done either. Both feature orange stripes down the side of the pants, and the second one has orange numbers and an outlined Power T on the helmet.
The last concept is easily the most extreme of the black jersey designs. It features a black helmet, orange shoulders with the tri-star emblem, a black stripe down the side of the pants, and orange numbers.

It’s not “baby blue” it’s “Summitt Blue”!
