According to a report from long-time Tennessee reporter Jimmy Hyams, the Vols’ season ticket sales are at a healthy number once again this year.
Hyams tweeted out some updated sales numbers for both season ticket sales and the sales of tickets for the Vols’ opener against Georgia Tech in Atlanta today.
Tennessee has sold about 68,700 season tickets, the second most since 2007. Last year was the most in 10 years: 72,000.

The nearly 69,000 season tickets that have already been purchased are the second-most in the last decade according to Hyams. Only last season’s total of over 72,000 eclipses the amount purchased for this upcoming year.
Tennessee’s season opener against Georgia Tech has been a hot topic of conversation this past week after speculation began to surface that the Yellow Jackets were selling more tickets to the game than Tennessee. And those rumors were correct.
But they were only correct because the Vols had yet to open up sales for the tickets.
And according to Hyams, now that season ticket holders have purchased tickets, more will be available to the general public.
Tennessee had sold about 20,600 tickets to Georgia Tech game to season-tix holders. Prices: $90 sideline upper deck, $80 end zone upper deck

Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta will hold approximately 75,000 people for a football game. So if Tennessee sells out their allotted 4,400 general admission tickets to go along with their 20,600 season tickets, they’ll likely request several thousand more.
