Our Confidence Level for Every 2017 Vols Game

There’s been talk this offseason that Kentucky could pull off a monumental upset over Tennessee. The Wildcats haven’t beaten the Vols since 2011, and that’s been the program’s only win against Tennessee in over three decades. But Kentucky returns a strong nucleus of offensive talent and will have some defensive play-makers on the roster as well.

The Vols have dumped 49 or more points on Kentucky in three of Butch Jones’ four seasons as Tennessee head coach. Last time the Vols were in Lexington in 2015, they handed Kentucky a 52-21 beatdown.

But history doesn’t always reflect the present, and this game might be more evenly matched this year than it has in half a decade. It’s one of the games we disagree on the most, as we have a full range of confidence levels for it.

Nathanael: 8

Will: 7

Mason: 6

Ben: 5

Average: 6.5

  1. It must be pretty easy to sit behind a computer and break a coach that took a team that had only won 2 SEC games. I would like this guy to come and try and coach a high school football team. What a joke. I expected more from Butch, I also never thought Fulmer would have a 5-7 season. Only Tennessee and Ohio State has that as they lowest margin. Derek Mason got an extension for a 5-7 season
