For the first time in over a decade, the Vols defeated the Florida Gators last season. Tennessee trailed 21-0 in the first half and faced a 21-3 halftime deficit before pouring on 35 unanswered points in the second half en route to a 38-28 victory.

The Vols ended one streak against the Gators. But we don’t feel very confident in their ability to end another one.

Tennessee hasn’t beaten Florida in Gainesville since the Casey Clausen-led Vols went in and handed the Gators a 24-10 loss in 2003. Since then, the Vols have lost six straight games in The Swamp by an average margin of defeat of 13.8 points. The Vols did only lose by one point in 2015, and they did so in heartbreaking fashion in that game. But none of us are giving Tennessee better than a toss-up for this year’s contest.

  1. It must be pretty easy to sit behind a computer and break a coach that took a team that had only won 2 SEC games. I would like this guy to come and try and coach a high school football team. What a joke. I expected more from Butch, I also never thought Fulmer would have a 5-7 season. Only Tennessee and Ohio State has that as they lowest margin. Derek Mason got an extension for a 5-7 season
