It’s been a rough road in the NFL for former Vol wide receiver Justin Hunter. But he caught some positive attention this week thanks to an impressive catch at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ OTAs.
The Steelers’ official Twitter account tweeted out a video of Hunter leaping into the air and coming down with a pass in bounds in the end zone from their practice on Thursday. Take a look at Hunter’s impressive catch:

Hunter is battling for a spot on Pittsburgh’s roster that is crowded at wide receiver right now. The Steelers signed Hunter back in March after he bounced around a couple teams during the 2016 season. Hunter is considered somewhat of a long shot to make the roster, but impressive catches like this one certainly help his chances.[tps_header][/tps_header]
The Tennessee Titans drafted Justin Hunter with the 34th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft after he left the Vols a year early to go pro. Hunter flashed his potential early on in his career with the Titans, but he could never put it all together and consistently produce. Hunter averaged nearly 20 yards a reception as a rookie and caught four touchdown passes. Both of those numbers would dwindle the following two seasons with the Titans, and it led to him being cut after the 2015 season.
Hunter was picked up off waivers by Miami in 2016 but didn’t record any stats with them. Buffalo then came calling, and Hunter had some slight success with the Bills, catching 10 passes for 189 yards and four scores in 12 games.
In his NFL career, Hunter has caught 78 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in 48 games.
