The Top Remaining 2018 In-State Targets for the Vols

4. Master Teague, RB

Tennessee added several running backs in their 2017 class, including top-100 overall player and in-state prospect Ty Chandler. But if there’s one thing the SEC has proven time and again, it’s that a team can’t have too many running backs on roster. And Master Teague is the top pure running back in the state of Tennessee in 2018.

Teague plays for Blackman in Murfreesboro, and the four-star running back appears to be as talented in the classroom as he is on the field. Teague boasts offers from Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Duke along with offers from Ohio State, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina among others.

As a junior for Blackman last season, Teague amassed 2,031 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns on just 242 carries. Teague averaged 8.4 yards per carry on his 242 attempts, and he also averaged 27.9 yards per return on 11 kick returns.

At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Teague has both the size and speed that SEC teams look for in running backs. Running back may not be the biggest position of need for the Vols in the 2018 class, but letting Teague go would be a mistake.
