• DT Kahlil McKenzie: Hasn’t lived up to his lofty recruiting rankings yet, and was slowed by an injury last season, but there’s still potential for him to be a breakout player
• DB Rashaan Gaulden: Rangy, versatile defensive back who could play any spot in the secondary and isn’t afraid to help out in run support
• QB Quinten Dormady: Needs to win the job first, but has a big arm, nice touch and NFL-caliber size
• DL Jonathan Kongbo: Flashed late last season as an athletic defensive tackle, but will focus on defensive end in 2017
• DB Micah Abernathy: Second-year starter who could play multiple positions, but looked like a natural last season
