RTI’s Official Tennessee Draft Predictions

Josh Malone

Daniel:
The pick: L.A. Rams, No. 141 overall (4th round)

Rationale: Receiver is right at the top of the list of needs for the Rams, so it wouldn’t be stunning to see L.A. take at least a couple. Malone might not be ready to step in as a top option, but he’s the type of player who has enough athleticism and upside to grow up a bit with Jared Goff over the next couple years and become a very good player before too long. He might be one of the biggest wild cards for Tennessee this year. His athleticism could wow a team and bump him up higher than I’m expecting, though his lack of overall production could also be a red flag that drops him.

Nathanael:
The pick: San Francisco 49ers, No. 143 overall (4th round)

Rationale: Malone has the skill and potential to be taken higher than the fourth round. But the fact that he only had one major year of production will be held against him. What won’t be held against him is his blazing 40-yard dash time, and that along with his deep threat ability will be all San Francisco needs to hear to make them feel good about taking him late in the fourth round.
