A week ago, Tennessee had four commitments in the 2018 class heading into the Orange and White Game weekend.
After the Thursday afternoon commitment of Jaylon Reed, the Vols now have eight players in the upcoming class after a slew of commitments in the past week. Reed committed to Tennessee via a video he posted on Twitter.

Reed is a rangy 6-1, 170-pound cornerback out of Olive Branch, Mississippi, which is just over the Tennessee state line near Memphis. While he’s not highly-rated, checking in as the No. 90 cornerback overall in the nation and the No. 1004 overall player in the class per the 247Sports composite ranking, he does have a decent offer list that includes Georgia, Oregon, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others.
Reed, who recorded 66 stops, six PBUs and a sack as a junior in 2016, received an offer from the Vols in March and committed following his visit over the course of the Orange and White Game weekend.
With eight commitments now in the class, Tennessee has moved up to No. 14 in the nation in the composite team rankings.
