Position Grades: Orange and White Game

Offensive Line

While getting “sacked” in a spring game sometimes just means a defender is in the general vicinity of the quarterback and wouldn’t actually be a sack in a real game, the offensive line still allowed too many “sacks” for one half of play. The Vols gave up two sacks to their quarterbacks and let pressure get back in the backfield a number of times. The running game was woefully ineffective aside from Fils-Aime as well, which means the line wasn’t opening up many holes either. It wasn’t a horrible day by any means, and the line was dealing with injuries. But so was the defense, and the offensive line was far from dominant.
