While it may not be healthy to put a ton of hype on a true freshman, especially if that freshman is an offensive tackle getting ready to play in the SEC. But it’s too late to slow that train when it comes to Trey Smith, and Vol fans want to see the freshman phenom for themselves.

Smith already had a great deal of hype around him coming out of high school as the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee and as a top-10 overall player in the country by some recruiting services. And his performance during spring practices has done nothing to quell that hype. From his man-handling of Jonathan Kongbo in the Circle of Life drill to his maturity in interviews, Trey Smith is one of the more highly anticipated freshmen to join the Vols during the Butch Jones era.

It’s unclear how much actual offensive line work there will be during the Orange and White Game, but if there’s a Circle of Life portion, fans will clamor to see Smith go at it again.
