1. DE Darrell Taylor
Spring was made for players in a situation similar to Darrell Taylor. Now a redshirt sophomore, Taylor has completed the evolution from high school wide receiver to college defensive end after packing on a few dozen pounds all the while trying to keep his explosiveness. A regular spot in the rotation is there for the taking. Derek Barnett, Corey Vereen and LaTroy Lewis are gone and Kyle Phillips is out this spring. So far it looks like the coaches have growing confidence in him, and he’s positioning himself to compete for a starting job during the 2017 season.
