The late 2015/early 2016 version of Tennessee’s inside linebacker appears to be back. After a high ankle sprain really hindered his 2016 season, Kirkland said he’s back to 100 percent this spring and he looks the part both in terms of how he’s moving around and some of his gains in the weight room. With Derek Barnett, Cam Sutton and Jalen Reeves-Maybin now out of the picture, Kirkland should be one of the leaders of this defense.
