1. Kentucky
Kentucky in the top spot on this list is a no brainer. No other school in SEC history has had as much success in the NCAA Tournament as the Wildcats. It’s not even close.
The Wildcats have only missed four NCAA Tournaments since 1985, and they have won three national titles in that span as well. Kentucky has made it to two other title games they didn’t win, and they eight Final Four appearances, 15 Elite Eight appearances, and 18 Sweet Sixteen appearances.
Kentucky almost has more Elite Eight appearances than the rest of the SEC combined. The other 13 SEC teams have 21 Elite Eight trips, and eight of those are from Florida. The Wildcats do have as many appearances in the title game (5) as the rest of the SEC, however.
Kentucky is the cream of the crop in the SEC. It’s as simple as that. And they have a chance to make another run this year.
