Almost all of the Florida Gators’ success has come over the last two decades, but what a run of success it’s been.
The Gators have made 20 NCAA Tournament appearances, and 14 of those appearances have come since 1999. Florida had a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 1987 and a Final Four run in 1994, but that doesn’t even compare to what the Gators have done over the last 20 years.
Florida has three national championship game appearances since 2000, and they won back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007. They also have three consecutive Elite Eight appearances from 2011-13, and they made it back to the Final Four in 2014.
After missing the tournament in 2015 and 2016, the Gators are back in the tournament this year for their 20th trip to the Big Dance. Time will tell if they add to their impressive track record with this year’s squad.
