Despite Missouri finishing last in the SEC for three consecutive seasons, the Missouri Tigers actually have a fairly storied basketball history.

Missouri has appeared in 19 NCAA Tournaments and got to the Sweet Sixteen four times in those 19 trips. And three of those four Sweet Sixteen runs turned into Elite Eight trips as well. The Tigers’ last Elite Eight trip came in 2008, and their previous two were in 2002 and 1994. All of those were before the Tigers joined the SEC.

The Tigers have only made it to the NCAA Tournament once since joining the SEC in the summer of 2012. And they were bounced in the first round in the 2013 tournament. But despite their recent struggles, Missouri’s tournament past is better than the majority of the SEC.
