10. Will Trey Smith be ready to play from Day 1?
Based on early reviews, the answer is most likely “yes.” The five-star recruit enrolled early so he can go through spring practice, and that should give him a great opportunity to see the field early in Knoxville. Where will he play exactly? That’s tough to say. In recent interviews he said he can play virtually any spot on the O-line, but also said he’s taken a liking to guard. There isn’t one gaping open spot for playing time on the offensive line, but it was a unit that was shaky enough at times last year that new O-line coach Walt Wells should be open to mixing things up a little bit. Smith gets the chance to be part of the solution starting in March.
