Scouting report: Harris, who was a visitor at UT’s state of Tennessee-themed Junior Day over the weekend, has emerged as the best safety in the state and one of the better ones in the nation. Watch his film for a few minutes and you’ll quickly find out why.
He possesses the rare ability to cover an extremely large amount of territory in the secondary. He’s a true center fielder for his high school’s defense and he couples that range with the ability to smack receivers just as the ball arrives. He’s a willing tackler in run support who has the ability to close from his free safety position all the way close to the line of scrimmage, often making tackles for short gains despite how far back he starts each play.
He’s a definite take for Tennessee or most any other major program in the nation due to his complete skill set as a safety that should translate very well to the next level.
