Biggest Positions of Need for Vols in 2018 Recruiting

Cornerback

Tennessee just needs help in the defensive backfield in this recruiting cycle, there’s no other way to put it. The Vols will be losing both Justin Martin and Emmanuel Moseley after the upcoming 2017 season, and they will have another couple corners to replace in another couple years when Baylen Buchanan and Marquill Osborne graduate (assuming neither one declares early).

The Vols did just add three cornerbacks in the 2017 class, but depth at that position is woefully thin as it is, and any injury or unexpected departure over the next couple seasons will impact it hard. Tennessee needs to address this position once again in the 2018 class.

Cornerback won’t be the biggest need in this cycle, but adding another couple commits would go a long way to bolstering the future depth of the position. And if the Vols can land an elite corner, they would certainly take that.
