Grades: The 2017 Signing Class

Running Backs

Tennessee fans dreamed of a super duo like Cam Akers and Ty Chandler coming in together, but “settling” for just Chandler is nothing to scoff at. The 5-11, 190-pound back out of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville is one of the best in the nation – checking in at No. 5 overall at his position on 247Sports. He’s dynamic in the open field and could come in and be a big part of the offense from Day 1. Behind him, the Vols added a couple players they view as complimentary to Chandler in Trey Coleman (5-11, 215) and Tim Jordan (6-0, 190), both three stars. If one of them can turn into a solid contributor and Chandler lives up to his potential, this will be a very good group.
