Quarterback
Tennessee added one signal caller – Will McBride – a three-star dual-threat out of League City, Tex., who flipped from Memphis to Tennessee late in the process. There are certainly some things to like about McBride, but he’s not an elite prospect. Tennessee missed out on five-star Hunter Johnson, who flipped to Clemson after an early commitment to Tennessee. From there, the Vols looked anywhere and everywhere for help at the position before finding McBride, an early enrollee, in December. He’ll give the Vols some depth and upside, but it’d be an upset if he’s ever UT’s full-time starter. Tennessee added a pair of preferred walk-ons in Brandon Hines and Seth Washington to give the position a little more depth as well.
