This isn’t the most glamorous time of the football calendar, but it’s arguably one of the most important.
It’ll be a couple months before the Vols are back on the practice field, and over half a year until they return to the actual game field, but offseason workouts – which are most intense in the winter before spring practice and then in the summer before fall camp – can define a team.
In a big year for the program, Butch Jones turned to long-time NFL strength coach Rock Gullickson to lead workouts for the Vols this offseason. And after fighting through one of the worst injury situations in college football in 2016, the Vols know they must get bigger, more athletic and stronger to do all they can to avoid something like that happening again in 2017.
Tennessee gave a brief look into the new strength program under Gullickson via of a short video put out on Twitter on Monday.
