Kevin O’Connell

Quick bio: O’Connell, who was born in Knoxville, was a journeyman NFL quarterback from 2008-12 after playing at San Diego State. He was the Cleveland Browns’ quarterbacks coach in 2015 and an offensive assistant under Chip Kelly in San Francisco in 2016.

Pros: He has Knoxville ties and has experience working with quarterbacks in the NFL.

Cons/Questions: His experience is relatively limited at this point in the coaching realm, and his two years in the NFL have been with terrible teams: San Francisco (2-14 in 2016) and Cleveland (3-13 in 2015) – both of which had terrible quarterback play.
