Breaking Down the Vols’ 2017 Recruiting Class

Offensive Line

Commitments: Trey Smith (5-star, tackle), Riley Locklear (3-star, tackle), K’Rojhn Calbert (3-star, tackle)

Tennessee’s highest-rated commit in the 2017 is offensive tackle Trey Smith. Smith is ranked as the No. 5 overall player in the country and the best player in the state of Tennessee, and he’s the highest-rated recruit Butch Jones has ever brought in according to 247Sports rankings. Smith headlines this class and this unit.

Behind Smith are a couple other offensive tackles. Riley Locklear out of West Virginia and K’Rojhn Calbert out of McMinnville, Tennessee are both big-bodied tackles who are listed at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds each.

The Vols have size and athleticism in their offensive line class. Tennessee doesn’t have a commitment from a guard in this cycle, but they may not look to add one in the final weeks either.
