Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
The Vols have had a handful of wide receivers and tight ends leave over the last few seasons. One even went on to change positions at his next school.
Alphonso Carter, a four-star receiver in the 2013 class, transferred to Louisville and moved to cornerback. He registered just two tackles in 2015 and matched that total in 2016 as well.
Ryan Jenkins was also part of the 2013 class and ended up going to Arizona State. He caught two passes for 13 yards in 2016.
Vic Wharton transferred after the 2014 season and went all the way out to the west coast to the University of California Berkeley. Wharton sat out 2015 and then made solid contributions to the Golden Bears this season, hauling in 28 catches for 293 yards and a score. He also returned 14 punts for 64 yards.
The lone tight end to transfer and see the field was Daniel Helm. He also left after the 2014 season and joined the Duke Blue Devils. In 2016, Helm caught 21 receptions for 235 yards and two touchdowns.
