Friday Top 10: A Vol Fan’s Christmas Wish List

5. Another Top 10 Recruiting Class in Football

Since Butch Jones took over as Tennessee’s head football coach before the 2013 season, he and his staff have been able to recruit at a very high level. Jones and his staff pulled in the No. 7 overall class according to 247Sports in 2014, the No. 4 class in 2015, and the No. 14 class in 2016 despite it being a smaller than average class.

But questions started cropping up about his recruiting this season after a few bumps midway through the process when Tennessee missed out on highly-rated in-state targets and kept picking up commitments from only three-star players.

Now with commitments from players like Trey Smith in the fold, confidence has risen again for Vols recruiting. Tennessee currently sits at No. 11 in the 247Sports rankings. But picking up a few more big time commitments and hauling in a top 10 class after a disappointing season would be a major success for the Vols this offseason.
