7. Big-Time Recruit in Basketball
Even though the young players on Rick Barnes’ team this year have been impressive, few of them were highly-touted coming out of high school. Rick Barnes and his staff have yet to land a “big time” recruit since coming to Tennessee despite that being the expectation.
Vol fans assumed once Barnes was brought on that he and his staff would be able to nab some “big name” recruits pretty early on in their tenures here. So far, however, that hasn’t been the case.
Getting highly rated four-stars and five-star recruits in basketball has been a rarity for Tennessee basketball. If Barnes and his staff can go out and get a player like that to commit in one of the next upcoming classes, it will bring some excitement to the program.
