2. Dave Blackburn as AD
There are probably plenty of qualified candidates out there that Tennessee’s could bring in to replace Dave Hart as UT’s athletic director. There are people who have experience at Power Five schools and those with experience in the SEC who would make great candidates for UT’s vacant AD position.
But the vast majority of Vol fans don’t want any of those candidates. No sir, for many it’s Dave Blackburn or bust for Tennessee’s AD.
Blackburn has ties to UT and has proven himself capable as an AD at Chattanooga over the last few years. He’s helped bring success to men’s and women’s basketball and football while avoiding scandals and controversies. In short, he’s been the image of perfection as AD at UTC, and he’s every Vol fan’s No. 1 choice to be UT’s next AD.
If Tennessee doesn’t hire Blackburn as AD, you can bet there will be a mattress or two engulfed in flames in the streets of Knoxville.
