Once again, the Vols fell behind by several scores early to a team and still managed to make a comeback. Only this time, they couldn’t quite pull off the victory.

Tennessee managed to hang neck-and-neck with Texas A&M in the second half despite turning the ball over an incredible seven times in the entirety of the game. The Vols came back and tied the ball game at 35 after an Alvin Kamara touchdown grab with 41 seconds remaining. Then the two teams went into overtime, exchanged field goals in the first one, and then the Aggies won it in the second after scoring a touchdown then intercepting a Josh Dobbs pass.

The Vols were messy and undisciplined on both sides of the ball in this one, but they racked up 684 yards of offense and still almost won the game despite all their mistakes. The Vols were also dealing with plenty of injuries at this point, but the backups responded well, especially Alvin Kamara who set a Tennessee record with 288 total yards of offense.
