After a promising 5-0 start to the regular season, the Vols stumbled down the stretch and ended up with a disappointing 8-4 record to end the regular season. Tennessee was picked as the overwhelming favorite to win the SEC East at SEC Media Days during the summer, but they came up short, finishing second in the East behind Florida for the second consecutive year.

The Vols had some good overall performances in their 12 regular season games, but for a team with so much talent and experience, they had far too many lackluster and poor showings.

The RTI crew graded each of Tennessee’s 12 regular season games, and our overall season grade at the end is a total of the game grades all averaged out.

Here are our grades for all 12 of Tennessee’s regular season games and our overall grade for their 2016 regular season.
