Derek Barnett
What’s there left to say about Derek Barnett that hasn’t already been said? Barnett has been consistently one of the best defensive ends in a conference that’s always full of elite defensive ends. With his 12th sack of the season against Vanderbilt last weekend, Barnett is now tied with Reggie White for the most career sacks in Tennessee history (32).
Time and time again Barnett has proven he has what it takes to succeed in the NFL. He has done everything he can at the collegiate level, and he should go out and break White’s sack record in Tennessee’s bowl game. Barnett projects as a top-10 pick in the draft, and he should make the jump to the NFL after this season.
Probability: Highly Likely
My Take: This is the easiest call of them all. Barnett should be taken in the first 10 picks of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has all the makings to be a solid NFL defensive end. Barnett should declare early and go make his money.
