Special Teams
Trevor Daniel only punted twice, and he gave Vanderbilt bad field position both times. Aaron Medley was having a good night until he smacked a 37-yard field goal off the upright in the fourth quarter that would’ve cut the deficit to one point. Tyler Byrd had a solid night as a returner, ripping off a 67-yard kick return and averaging 33 yards a return. Tennessee’s coverage units were consistently good as well, and the Vols made impact plays in special teams a few times on the night.
