Some notes and observations from the open portion of practice on Tuesday afternoon.
Back At It
Defensive back Cam Sutton and running back Alvin Kamara were back on the practice field. Sutton suffered a broken bone in his foot in the Ohio game on September 17th. Kamara went out after a knee injury in the Alabama game. Both players looked to be moving well and were fielding punts in the portion we saw.
Non-Contact
Along with Sutton and Kamara, defensive backs Malik Foreman and Stephen Griffin were dressed in green non-contact jerseys.
Special Teams
Cam Sutton, Alvin Kamara, Marquez Callaway and Josh Smith were seen fielding punts. Callaway has emerged as a special teams threat after returning a punt 62 yards for a score. Kamara looked to be close to full speed as he sprinted towards a short punt during one rep.
Wanted: Defensive Players
There is no question that Tennessee needs help along the defensive line, especially at tackle. Offensive lineman Charles Mosley was seen working with the defensive line. According to 247 Sports, Mosley was ranked as a four-star prospect and the 27th best defensive tackle in the nation. As a freshman in 2014, Mosley was moved to offensive guard and has served as the backup for Jashon Robertson, but has been used sparingly on that side of the ball.
