Tennessee picked up a commitment from three-star cornerback Shawn Shamburger following its 55-0 Homecoming victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday afternoon.

Shamburger is a 6-0, 190-pound corner who plays at Colquitt Co. (Ga.) High School, the same school that UT freshman linebacker Ja’Quain Blakely came from. Shamburger also holds offers from Ole Miss, Auburn and a few other FBS-level schools.

He’s ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 167 CB in the nation and the 1,664 overall player in the nation.

The Vols now have 27 overall commitments in the 2017 class and three true corners in Shamburger, Terrell Bailey and Cheyenne Labruzza, though some of the players in the class that are classified as ‘athletes’ could also get a look at corner.
