4. No Final Four Appearances
A national title in basketball would be the dream scenario, but getting to a Final Four is the first step. The Vols came ever-so-close in 2010, falling 70-69 to Michigan State in the Elite Eight. That’s as far as Tennessee has gotten, however, and as of this moment, it looks like it could be awhile until the Vols are back in the postseason conversation. Head coach Rick Barnes has a Final Four appearance on his resume (2002-03), but with the current Tennessee team picked 13th in the SEC, there’s a lot of work to do.
