As if Tennessee’s crushing loss to South Carolina on Saturday wasn’t enough for UT fans for this week, plenty of rumors and reports have been swirling on Sunday and Monday morning surrounding the team. Multiple reports – including one from 1180 AM’s Jayson Swain in on the Swain Event radio show – and another from WMNL’s Jimmy Hyams both say that Jalen Hurd’s future at Tennessee is in question.

Hurd scored an early touchdown against South Carolina, but was largely a non-factor outside of that on Saturday as John Kelly took the majority of the carries in Columbia. ESPN reported that Hurd was likely out later in the game due to an injury, but that seems to be a bit unclear at this point.
Sophomore defensive end Jonathan Kongbo also caused a stir on social media by tweeting this photo on Sunday:

He provided no further information via Twitter, though the tweet clearly resembled how former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement from the NFL following last season.
Butch Jones is scheduled to address the media at noon ET on Monday afternoon, so perhaps some clarity will come to these reports and rumors.
