Linebackers
The return of Darrin Kirkland Jr. to the linebacker rotation didn’t go quite as well as planned. Kirkland did lead the team in tackles with eight total, but Colton Jumper reverted back to more of a liability than an asset like he had been against Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M. The linebackers weren’t able to contain one of the worst rushing attacks in the nation and got burned for 127 yards by running back Rico Dowdle. And none of Tennessee’s linebackers made much of an impact in pass defense either.
