Running Backs
Coming off a historic rushing attack in 2015, the Vols haven’t been as dominant in 2016. Jalen Hurd has been steady, but not spectacular, as he’s pounded his way to 435 yards on 114 carries (3.8 ypc), but hasn’t recorded a run longer than 28 yards. A big story has been the use of Alvin Kamara – who started the A&M game after an injury to Hurd, and put up a school record for all-purpose yardage. Kamara has been dominant at times, but has also had four games with 10 offensive touches or less. John Kelly, when called upon, has looked like a competent third back who could step into the starting role next season if called upon.
