An obituary for 50-year old James Louis Herbers of Memphis mentions that he was one of Tennessee’s biggest fans.
And because he lost his life recently after suffering a cardiac arrest, the family added, seemingly in a light-hearted manner, that UT’s bizarre season might have contributed to that.
The obituary reads, “Lastly, the Tennessee Volunteers lost one of their biggest fans, even though they may have contributed to the cardiac arrest!”
This season certainly has seen plenty of emotional swings. Despite a 5-2 record, the Vols have trailed by at least two scores in every game except the matchup with Ohio – a game that still turned out to be closer than expect. Three games – Appalachian State, Georgia and Texas A&M were still in doubt until the final snap.
