Add another player to the lengthy list of Tennessee players with injury concerns.

Starting offensive guard Jack Jones tweeted on Monday evening that he underwent surgery, but he also feels optimistic about his chances to return for the Vols’ next game on Oct. 29 at South Carolina. UT is off this week with a bye.

Jones’ surgery is yet another concern for a beat-up offensive line unit.

Left tackle Brett Kendrick and right tackle Chance Hall both left the game against Alabama, leaving freshmen Drew Richmond and Marcus Tatum to take on the Tide’s loaded defensive front. Left guard Jashon Robertson only played on the field-goal unit, while center Dylan Wiesman didn’t dress out for the game.

Coleman Thomas, who has battled an ankle injury for much of the year, got the start at center, while Venzell Boulware made his first career start at left guard, with Jack Jones at right guard.

Butch Jones is addressing the media early Tuesday afternoon, and will likely have updates on Jack Jones, Kendrick, Hall, Kahlil McKenzie (who is reportedly out for the year) and the rest of UT’s lengthy injury list.
