The UT Board of Trustees recently approved $106 million to continue the renovation of Neyland Stadium. Tennessee sent out some ideas of what that might look like on Tuesday morning.

“The groundwork has been laid for proceeding with a much anticipated investment in Neyland Stadium,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Dave Hart said in a release. “The study encompasses all the essential elements to ensure that Neyland Stadium remains a preeminent college football destination and experience for current fans and future generations alike.”

Tennessee, in conjunction with Populous, a leading sports architecture and design firm, has been working since January of this year to come up with concepts for the next three phases of renovations for Neyland Stadium. UT confirmed that the first phase has a target completion date of August of 2019, and that the capacity for Neyland will remain over 100,000.

UT sand Populous provided a full release with their proposed renovations, and here’s a look at some of the most notable renovations that could be coming:

  1. Looks wonderful, but I wish they would put hand rails inside. With nothing to hold on to going up and down the steps almost keeps older ticket holders from attending games. I guess they don’t care about those of us who have been attending games since 1948.
