While the results on the field weren’t what Tennessee was looking for against No. 1 Alabama, the Vols did continue to build their 2018 recruiting class.
Safety Bryson Richardson, who was one of dozens of recruits on campus for the UT-Alabama game, committed to Tennessee, giving UT its third commitment in the 2018 class.

Richardson is a 6-foot, 180-pound safety from Buford, Ga., who chose the Vols over early offers from Louisville, West Virginia, NC State and Vanderbilt. He’s rated as a three-star, and the No. 551 overall player in the 2018 class, as well as the 51st best safety, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Richardson is the third commitment in the 2018 class for the Vols, joining five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays and four-star athlete Alontae Taylor.
