Offensive coordinator Mike DeBord drew up a masterpiece on this play. Tennessee receivers have traditionally struggled getting off the line against Florida’s aggressive corners, so DeBord put Malone in the backfield, and motioned him out to the right. That got him a free release and a good angle against the Florida secondary. Dobbs hit him in stride, and Malone outran the Florida DBs to the end zone to give UT a 31-21 edge in the fourth quarter.
