10. Penn State
The sooner this matchup happens, the better.
Penn State and Tennessee may not be the most appealing match-up at first glance, but a deeper look shows why this game would be appealing. James Franklin, the former head coach of Vanderbilt, is currently the Nittany Lions’ head coach. Franklin notoriously beat the Vols twice in his three seasons as Vanderbilt’s head coach, and Vol fans detest him. Seeing Tennessee play Penn State and take on one of the fan base’s most hated coaches would be well worth the money.
The Vols haven’t played Penn State since they lost to them in the 2007 Outback Bowl. In fact, the Vols have a three-game losing streak to Penn State and haven’t beaten them since 1972. So ending that streak would also be a nice plus.
