Linebackers
The return of Jalen Reeves-Maybin helped the linebacking unit in a big way. Reeves-Maybin totaled 13 tackles and had 1.5 tackles for loss in a solid return after being ejected in the first quarter of Tennessee’s season-opener. Darrin Kirkland Jr. was having a nice game until an injury took him out. Colton Jumper got significant playing time, but he failed to impress. Virginia Tech finished with 186 rushing yards, so the unit definitely could’ve had a better game.
