VFLs Find New NFL Homes

Ellis-1

The end of the NFL preseason signified a change of scenery for a handful of former Tennessee players. While the Vols were in action on Thursday, many former players found a new destination in the NFL over the past few days.

Justin Hunter was cut by the Titans, later signing for the Miami Dolphins.

Tight end Alex Ellis would also be released by Tennessee, landing on Jacksonville’s practice squad. Elsewhere in the AFC South, Curt Maggitt made the 53-man roster in Indianapolis.

Super Bowl champion punter Britton Colquitt was let go by Denver. He would later sign a one year deal with the Cleveland Browns. On Monday night, the Browns also signed former Vol Michael Palardy to their practice squad.

Wide receiver Marquez North was cut a week ago by the LA Rams, while Kyler Kerbyson was released by the Tampa Bay Bucs earlier this week after bouncing around with a couple different teams.

Safety Brian Randolph remains a member of the Rams, but will miss the upcoming season due to a torn ACL suffered against the Cowboys in preseason.
