As usual, Trevor Daniel was spectacular. The junior punter averaged almost 50 yards per punt, and if you have a complaint, it’s that he hit one too far – outkicking his coverage and allowing a 45-yard return. Kickoff coverage was solid, Evan Berry had a nice 41-yard return on his lone attempt as well. Aaron Medley nailed both of his field goals. So while it was largely positive, an early muff by Cam Sutton really changed the game early. The Vols got a quick stop on defense, and were set to get good field position when the UT veteran return man put the ball on the ground, eventually leading to an App. State touchdown. The whole game might have had a different trajectory if not for that play.
