Daniel: Tennessee sure does know how to pick some tricky non-Power 5 schools to play. The Vols also know how to take care of business in those matchups. Like Bowling Green last year, Appalachian State, led by a talented backfield of quarterback Taylor Lamb and running back Marcus Cox, will find some success moving the ball against the Vols throughout the course of he game. UT is just too big, too fast and too deep for this to be a close game late, though.

Pick: 45-17 Tennessee

Nathanael: Hey, have you heard that Appalachian State upset Michigan in 2007? Did you know that because of that, every Power Five team Appy State plays has automatically been put on upset alert for the last nine years? Did you also know that Appalachian State has lost by an average of 48.8 to 11 to Power Five schools since upsetting Michigan in 2007? Because all of that is true.

Pick: 48-13 Tennessee

Stephen: Appalachian State is the perfect example of how to build a solid football program from the ground up. They rose through the FCS rankings, winning conference and national championships. Then they bumped up to a lower level FBS conference and have really thrived over the last couple of years there. If the trend continues, they could be the next Houston in 7-8 years. In the mean time, there is still much work to be done.

Pick: 55-17 Tennessee
