ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit is one of the most respected voices in college football, so when he lays out some preseason predictions, everybody is going to listen.
He unveiled his annual preseason “Herbie” awards on Wednesday where he gives his picks for where teams will finish and some individual awards as well. Tennessee is well-represented this year.
Herbstreit likes the Vols to win the SEC East before falling to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
He also nominated Johsua Dobbs as one of his top “4,000/1,000” threats (referring to 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards), Jalen Reeves-Maybin in “The Enforcer” category and Bob Shoop as the fifth-biggest impact coordinator hire.
Like all the other preseason picks, it means very little once the season kicks off in just over a week, but the hype and the anticipation continues to grow for Tennessee fans.
